I Love Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving may be my favorite Holiday of the year.  It is just so American.  We all have so much to be thankful for, no matter the battles we are pushed into or the losses we have endured.

I am so thankful that I got to see Wendy's 'Red' tree this year.  I miss her so much at times like this.  We often waited for this tree to turn, checking it each day.  This was one of the first "birthday" presents I gave her.  She had lost all the Oak trees in the back yard to Oak Wilt?, so Wendy had planted some trees…. okay, for years we laughed at this.  They were sticks about 8 to 10 inches high about an inch or less around. (no, none of them made it due to mowing accidents!)  Since she was such a garden/yard person, I decided that my first birthday present to her would be trees…. with a December birthday I would always get her something for the yard or gardens in the summer.  So I got her "real" trees…. you know the kind that a tractor comes in and digs a hole so the tree and root can go in!  Here is a picture of her "red" tree…

Is this not the greatest tree.  You can't see how red, red it is.

I am hoping for one more fall in our home, but if not, I am so very thankful that I was able to have the season to see the trees, it has helped to heal.

Now for a great card…. that is what the fun is about!  Did you see the awsome sale in yeaterday post… if not, go check it out!  Since I was talking about Wendy's birthday gift I thought this card would be good to share.  I love the new Embossing folder – reminds me of all Wendy's knitting.  Guess this is a Wendy day… So grateful for our years together.  Check out how to make this card below.  If you need anything to make it you can shop at my online store by hitting the shop button at the top.  Remember the Code to use to get a special gift from me is:  MWCZE97F.dsc09668

Fall is my favorite time of year. Beautiful tree. Fall means we have 8 months before it hits 120 out again. And Thanksgiving is my favorite time, eat, drink and be merry.
