This truly is my favorite set from the catalog. It is called Chalk Talk and it has the most wonderful sayings. And who wouldn't like to get a card that says, "I'm so grateful there's you in the world".
The card is made using an Island Indigo card base. The orange that we used is Pumpkin Pie. We used the Quatrefancy Speciality Designer Series Paper on the top. The bottom is a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. To add that bit of texture, we ran it through the Big Shot using the new Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder. We put a little piece of 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie just to hold it together. Here is a secret… After you put the ribbon on, you don't have to use anything to glue down the ribbon. You just use one of the sides of the dimensionals, and put that underneath the blue piece. Not only will it hold your ribbon in place, it will also pop up your saying.
The blue piece is made with my favorite set – Chalk Talk which, of course, has framelits to make cutting them out super easy. The bottom layer is inked with Island Indigo, stamped and cut out with the framelit. The top layer is inked with Pumpkin Pie, stamped and then punched out with the extra large Oval punch. The are both attached with dimensionals.
This is a really nice fast card to make. You can change this card really easy by finding any designer series paper for the top, use a matching card stock on the bottom, some sort of ribbon to tie it all together.
I hope you have enjoyed this. I would love to have you out at class to make cards with you.
If you make a card like this, send me the card!! (I would Love cards from you) or send me a picture of the card and I'll feature them on the blog.
