Who doesn't love a pretty, bright Spring dress? Yes, I know. It's cold and snowy and icy and not at ALL like Spring but Spring will eventually arrive.
Even I love pretty spring dresses. I don't WEAR them, but I still love them.
Funny story, I have a new downline and she commented that I use Summer Starfruit a lot. I didn't think so. She was saying how she didn't like it. Well, she has been coming to our classes for a couple of months now (Ask me how you can come to our classes for FREE!). And she said last night, that it was beginning to grow on her. And everytime I use Summer Starfruit, I think – "Man! She's right! I us a lot of this." Years ago, we had a new color, River Rock, that was a tan with a little bit of green tinge to it. And we didn't like it. But by the time it retired, we were sad to see it go and we are so glad to have it back. The Summer Starfruit is kinda like River Rock. I find myself using it all the time. So, in honor of our new downline, here is another card featuring this great color.
This is a great Spring card that uses our new Dress Up Framelits Dies (130101) from the Spring Catalog. It's so easy to use. The paper I got her dress from is called Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack (129312). Both of these are from the Spring Mini. Each sheet of this paper stack is only 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", but Wendy, being her normal greatness, was able to cut 4 dresses out from each sheet of paper. You can great a TON of cards. The black is also cut out using the framelit. Then I used the Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126848) for the waistband. You want to be careful when gluing the stand and the dress together that you don't get glue at the top and bottom of the stand. You really just want to use a line of green glue down the middle of the back of the dress. Remember, less is more with green glue. To put the ribbon on – I used the tinest piece of regular adhesive on the back, and tucked the ribbon around. I used the rhinestones to highlight the dress. I used 7 of them. Make sure to use the strips that come along the side. It makes it so easy to attach them.
The words are again from the Occasions set alphabet stamped with Midnight Muse Classic Ink. This set works for EVERYTHING and coordinates perfectly with the Large Oval Punch (119855) in Whisper White and the Scallop Oval Punch, (119856) in Midnight Muse. To step up this card, I also used the Extra-Large Oval Punch (119859) in Gumball Green.
The Summer Starfruit Card Stock was textured with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127751). There is nothing easier to add texture to your card then using the Embossing Folders. That was then put on a Midnight Muse piece of CardStock that was then put on the Gumball Green Card base. You will notice that I did things in threes. That is a great design tip.
And the best part of this card? You get to be a fashion designer. It's like playing with paper dolls again.
