Christmas Presents!   Our Downline also received from us a 2012 through the Year flip calendar which we created using My Digital Studio (MDS).  We learned how to make this calendar at Convention in July 2011.   Using MDS, it was really easy to update it for the new year and then have it printed for our downline.

Here are pictures of all the Christmas Cards we have made in the last few years.  What we did this year for our Christmas cards was to take all the extra cards we had made from previous years and spread them all out on the table.  We then went through our Christmas Card list and choose the card we thought you would like the best.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas….  Well, at least it IS snowing!

Here are the Christmas Cards we made for a friend.  All 100 of them.   Our friend then put a color-coordinated picture of her wonderful family on the inside front cover.  The card was embossed with the Cherry Cobbler embossing powder (122949) and the Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon provided a nice finishing touch to a very elegant card.

Want to get a head start on your Christmas cards, but don’t have the time, space, or the perfect idea for your card?  Come make your Christmas cards with us!  Pick the card(s) you want to make from the four below, and we will have it all prepared for you when you arrive.  Everything will be cut and scored for you, the stamps and ink out and ready for you to use – you don’t need to spend time designing, prepping, or cleaning up – just relax and make your cards.

These cards can be done by anyone, from beginners to advanced stampers.  You can make 10 cards to 110 cards, or even more!  Bring a friend and you can both get your cards done while you enjoy some time together.

• Pick one (or more) of the card designs above.  Cards must be done in sets of 10 per design, but you can do as many sets of 10 as you want.
• Pick one (or more) of the dates and times below
• Pay for the cards you have chosen (cash, check or charge – please do not send charge information via email)

 $12.00 for each set of 10 cards includes envelopes and all supplies.    

 You must pre-register and pre-pay by Sunday, October 16 so that we can have adequate materials prepared.   If you are making 50 or more cards, we can print the inside saying for you.  Please provide the text you want at least 3 days prior to your scheduled class time.

After we have decided on a card we want to make and have made a test card of it to be sure it looks like we want it to then we start the assembly line.

 The first step is for Wendy to cut all the cardstock or at least what I need to get stated – that was the case with this card – she cut the vanilla cardstock so I could do the embossing and stamping first. Later she cut all the rest.  Not all the cards had the same DSP as that would not have been possible with only two sheets in each package of the same design.  Next I embossed all the front image using black craft ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.   Yes, there was embossing powder all over the place! 

Next I stamped the front saying with Stazon Black ink and then the inside saying with Stazon Black ink.  I tend to stamp all in the same ink color at once. This was easier this year as I used unmounted stamps  and had both saying on one clear block – half the work! (Yes Linda, I said I liked unmounted stamps!)

Next step was to punch out all the outside saying and Black cardstock with the Modern label punch.  I am making piles by now to keep track of everything. 

Now that Wendy had the rest of the paper cut, I start to assemble, again one part at a time. First the outside saying, then the DSP on the step down then the card itself with the front image and the inside saying. 

Last to put on was the Rhinestone.  Oh!  that is not the last step!  The last step before signing is to stamp the back – have to let everyone know that the cards are homemade just for them!

Then, Wendy and I sit down together, sign the cards and address them – yes, we do use labels to address them.  Hope this has answered your questions – if you want to make your Christmas or Thanksgiving cards for this year I can help you design a card and break it up into little steps – and the best part is that when you buy the stamps and cardstock from us – WENDY WILL CUT ALL YOUR CARD STOCK FOR YOU!!!  Let me tell you that is a huge time saver.

This was the card we used for our Christmas card for 2010. 

We just loved it.  It took a lot to make 300 of them, but it was worth it.  Wendy did use some other cards from a class to take into work.  Not sure if you can see how this was made but we embossed the main image using Black craft ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I love that we now sell the Rhinestones so I could use those too.  If you are interested in making your Christmas cards for this coming year contact me!

A Winter Wonderland!!!!!

Even church was canceled this AM!  We are home with a fire in the fireplace (now – we have had to take the dog out twice) and working on staying warm.   This will be a good day to snow shoe and go sledding once the wind slows down a little.  Right now you can hear it howling in over the fire in the fire place.

This is my stamping share for you today – it is a card from a swap. 

The little girl comes in a set of four –  Greeting Card Kids – you can see the set here.  The snow on the card is much calmer than our snow outside.

This is what it looks like outside now. 

I have the most awesome neighbor who keeps us snow blown and snow shoveled out.  I am so thankful  for him as I tried shoveling last night to take the dog out and I could not even breathe after about 6 shovels of snow… this is very heavy snow. 

Now, if the wind goes away perhaps we can go out and play…. Right now I am finishing my Christmas Cards.

This a is an easel card and has tons of layers as well as room in the back for an artificial candle to light the fireplace.  The set used to make this card is in the Mini that will only be here for another few weeks so hurry and contact me if you want to make this card.
