Need for Speed is RETIRING!

2013 Need for Speed 001

Yes, Need for speed is gone!   Hopefully, you have already purchased it!  (If not, you have until Tomorrow May 31st to get your order in! )

Doesn't this set just look great with the tin foil background?  How many times have we used this set over the years.  I'm so going to miss it!

OK – enough whining already!  It's good to look forward to the new sets.  Out with the old…  In with the NEW!!   But some sets are just near and dear to my heart.  After all, I love ATVing and going fast!

So on this card we used the stamp set Daring Adventure, Need for Speed and Word Play.  We created this card for the graduate, imaging the possibilities….

You first adhere the foil to a piece of card stock with adhesive.  Make sure the shiny side is up.  Then bend the edges of the foil around the card stock.  Trim the tabs and then run that through the Big Shot with your favorite embossing folder.  We used Houndstooth embossing folder for this card, but chevron works great too especially with the car stamp.  It looks like a road!

The black card base is actually stamped with black ink using the funny shape from Daring Adventure Stamp Set (this is also retiring *sniff )   You can't see it in the picture, but it gives a subtle texture to the black cardstock.  It's those extra touches that turn a good card into an AWESOME card.  Subtle, but very effective.

We put Imagine the Possibilities from Word Play then stamped the jet with Black StazOn Ink then we colored it with a real red marker.  It is hard to see from the picture but we then used Crystal Effects to add a shine to the jet.   It went along with the aluminum foil.

We first did this card 3 or 4 years ago with the motorcycle.  We have managed to live without that and we suppose we will be able to live without Need for Speed too.

BUT – if you can't live without it, make sure to call us or e-mail us RIGHT AWAY while there is still time!

Hope to see you at our New Catalog Party & Retired Items Sale on Saturday June 1st from 9am to 2pm.  Stop by!  We are looking forward to see all our customers!
