Playing with Clay

2013 June Clay FlowersThis was a stamp-a-stack card that we did during June.  Yes, we did use the the new Flower Shop Bundle (pg 95).  This is just such a great bargain as you get the stamp set and the coordinating Pansy Punch together at a 15% discount.   We also used the new Chevron Ribbon too.  We are currently having a Ribbon Share where you can get 2 yards of each of the 12 colors of the Chevron Ribbon for only $25 (shipping is extra).  That's 24 yards of ribbon.

But what I really wanted you to notice is the buttons.  The buttons were made with the new Simply Pressed Clay.  I am so in love with they clay.  I am telling everyone to order a package because so far we have used this one package of clay for my downline meeting, for my stamp-a-stack class and Hostess Appreciation Dinner and we still have clay left over.  It is so much fun since it comes white but you can color it with re-inkers, or color it with markers, you can emboss it.   Oh, it was so much fun!   If you are wondering how to get the buttons out of the mold check out of the question of the month from July's newsletter.  If you don't currently receive the newsletter, sign up by using the link on the left hand side of the blog under Connect with Us.

Just so you know, these clay buttons were colored with markers, then I put a little dap of Crystal Effects on my finger and smeared it on the buttons to add a little sparkle.  So easy and it dries so fast.

We used a lot of dimensionals.  The ribbons are cut and hidden underneath the flower.  You want to make sure the top flower does not hang over the card like I did because then it won't fit in the envelope.   So make your flowers fit on the card.  The Chevron paper is so easy to cut at this angle because it has lines.

We used the Flower Shop Bundle to create the flowers.  The words are from Four You (pg 22). It is just a really nice Hello.  And again we used the oval punch with the scallop behind it.  It is just amazing how many stamp sets fit on the oval punch.  It is a must have accessory.  We just love it.

The inks we used are Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral.  We used the new Chevron Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo and Pear Pizzazz.   The embossing folder is called Chevron (127749).  And we used markers of Calypso Coral, Island Indigo and Pear Pizzazz to color the clay.  Remember when you use the clay, make sure it is dry.  Make sure to dry the front and the back.  And then it won't seem dry because it stays kinda rubbery.  It does not get hard like you would expect.  This is great because it can be mailed that much easier.

Make sure to use an embossing buddy when you are using the clay.  The clay and the molds can be found on page 167.  And you are going to love it.  You have to have this cool new product.
