The do everything card…

This is a such a fun card  because you can use it for Birthdays, Thinking of You, Sympathy  – really anything!

2013 10 4 20 Butterfly 074

This is using what turned out to be one of my favorite sets in the big catalog.  It is called Daydream Medallions on page 117 (Wood 126465  Clear 126467).   It is an easy set to overlook, but I've found myself going for it more and more lately.  I think we must have already done 12 cards with this set this fall.  Part of the reason why this has become such a fun set for me is because it has the Floral Frames Framelits that go along with it.  We didn't use those on this card, but it is really cool that it has those framelits to match and help cut these out.

2013 10 4 20 Butterfly Inside 075

Let me tell you a little bit about this card.  We used Summer Starfruit as the base card, and then as you can see on the inside and the outside we used the scalloped trim border in Soft Suede just to give it a little added edge.  We stamped on the outside with the Daydream Medallions, first in the Summer Starfruit Classic Ink  then inside that with Gumball Green Classic Ink.  We used another word set called Sweet Essentials (Wood 126455   Clear 126457).  This is a set we use a lot especially when we are doing Thinking of You cards because of the nice big Thinking of You stamp.

After we stamped, both the inside and outside of the on the Whisper White Card Stock,  I used Summer Starfruit to sponge the card edges and the top of the card too so it wasn't so glaringly white.   Then we used the butterfly stamp and the butterfly punch that goes along with it.  We bent it a little and put it on with green glue.  We then added that extra touch of pearls down the middle.  These pearl accessories are so fun to play with.  They come in small, medium and large and include a string a pearls along the side.  We used those strings of pearls on the butterfly.  You just cut out the number of pearls you need and they come out perfectly aligned!  How easy is that?

The Butterfly stamp set is called Papillon Potpourri (Page 115 of the big catalog) and it coordinates perfectly with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  You can stamp the butterfly in the same coloring for a subtle effect or a contrasting coloring for a more bold statement.  Then use the punch to easily cut it out.

This is a super quick, easy and elegant card to make and have on hand for any occasion.

Happy Stamping!
